BE ALERT! NFDA Exhibitors Being Misled by Housing Companies 

Don’t be fooled by misleading phone calls from housing companies claiming to be representatives of NFDA to arrange hotel accommodations. These housing bureaus are not affiliated with NFDA and are merely trying to book unsuspecting companies at other New Orleans-area hotels for a fee. The best, safest way to make your hotel accommodations for the 2010 NFDA International Convention & Expo in New Orleans is to visit the Hotel Reservations page on this site. FairGuide and Other Directories Preying on Exhibitors

It's important that you are cautious of any offers for "free directory listings" that are not affiliated with NFDA. At this time, we are aware of at least two companies - Slovakia-based Construct Data Publishing/FairGuide and another, possibly related company called Expo-Guide - that are actively targeting exhibitors of various conventions. The advertising solicitation is very cleverly composed and misleading. The offer is not a free listing but rather an advertising order that, if completed and signed, imposes a three-year-long advertising obligation costing the exhibitor thousands of dollars and endless harassment and collection demands. If you are contacted by one of these companies, DO NOT complete the listings form, sign anything or send any money. DO contact your legal advisor if you receive an invoice. These are scams and these organizations are not endorsed by NFDA.
